  • It was established on 23 November 1997 under the Prasar Bharati Act.
  • Prasar Bharati achieves the objectives of public service broadcasting through All India Radio and Doordarshan.
  • Prasar Bharati's components are: All India Radio, Doordarshan, DD News, All India Radio News, and Free Dish.
  • Prasar Bharati's objective is to provide information, education, and entertainment to the remote areas of the country.
  • Prasar Bharati's secretariat is responsible for interacting with the Union Government's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on matters related to All India Radio and Doordarshan.
