The 10th World Ayurveda Congress and Arogya Expo has begun in Dehradun.
Uttarakhand is hosting this global conference for the first time.
It will be held from 12 to 15 December.
Delegates from more than 60 countries will participate in this conference.
So far 6500 registrations have been done to participate in the four-day conference.
This number is more than the 9th World Ayurveda Congress held in Goa last year.
A total of 5102 registrations were done in Goa.
More than 200 organizations and industry groups will set up stalls to showcase their products and services.
Along with becoming a platform for global promotion of Ayurveda, this conference will also organize buyer-seller meets between entrepreneurs and government departments.
This event will play an important role in getting Uttarakhand recognition in the field of Ayurveda.
Through this global platform, emphasis will also be laid on connecting people with the concept of 'Sarve Santu Niramaya:'.
Apart from this, the Uttarakhand government is also working on making the country's first yoga policy.
World Ayurveda Congress:
The World Ayurveda Congress was started in Kochi, Kerala from the year 2002.
This conference is organized every year for the global promotion of Ayurveda with the cooperation of the central government.
Its objective is to demonstrate the efficacy and strength of the AYUSH system of medicine at the global level.
Ayurveda:
It is the traditional medical system of India.
The word Ayurveda is made up of two Sanskrit words 'Ayush' and 'Veda'.
It means 'life' and 'science' respectively.
Thus, Ayurveda means 'science of life'.
It emphasizes balance between body, mind, spirit, and environment.
Disease is linked to an imbalance in the body's life force or prana.
Ayurveda uses methods such as diet, herbs, massage, yoga, meditation, and internal cleansing.
Techniques such as examining the pulse, tongue, eyes, and physical form are used.
