National Statistical System Training Academy (NSSTA):
- It is a premier training institute under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India.
- It was established in January 2009, and is located in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
- Its main objective is to strengthen the statistical system in India and promote statistical capacity building.
- Under this, training is provided to central and state government officials, researchers, academicians and other related stakeholders.
Major roles of NSSTA:
- To make government officials and statisticians proficient in data collection, analysis and interpretation.
- To make trainees aware of the latest techniques and methods in the field of statistics at national and international level.
- To prepare accurate and high quality statistical data, which will strengthen evidence-based policy making.
- To encourage new research related to statistical science and ensure effective use of data in various government schemes.
- To promote statistical training and research in collaboration with various national and international organizations.
