Why in News?
The third 25T Bollard Pull Tug Ashwa (Yard 337) was inducted at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam.

Key Points:
- These tugs are part of the construction contract for six (06) 25T BP tugs concluded with M/s Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), Kolkata on 12 November 2021.
- Two of these tugs have been successfully delivered by the shipyard so far.
- This tug is indigenously designed.
- It has been constructed in accordance with the relevant Naval rules and regulations of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS).

These are small but powerful vessels, built to pull, push or guide large ships, submarines etc. These are also called "Tug Boats".

25T Bollard Pull Tug 'Ashwa' (Yard 337):
- Manufacture: Built by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL).
- Features: 25T Bollard Pull Capacity, helps in berthing, un-berthing, turning and manoeuvring of ships.
- Use: To provide support to Indian Naval ships and submarines.
- Additional Capacity: Capable of fire support and limited search and rescue operations.
- Significance: Symbol of 'Make in India' initiative.
Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL):
- It is a leading rail and defence manufacturing company based in Kolkata.
- It manufactures freight wagons, metro coaches, passenger trains, navigation and security systems.
- This company is manufacturing coaches for Vande Bharat trains and Pune Metro under the 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative.
- Apart from this, it is also manufacturing ships and tug boats for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
