The Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav, which was going on since 4 December, concluded on 11 December.
Shri Jayant Chaudhary and Dr. Sukanta Majumdar attended the closing ceremony of the festival in New Delhi.
25 new primers in various Indian languages were also released during the event.
These are in addition to the 79 primers already released by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.
An exhibition was also organised by Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, NCERT, NIOS, AICTE, CBSE and State SCERTs in the event.

Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav:
It is celebrated by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education.
The festival is held on the occasion of the birth anniversary (11 December) of revered Mahakavi Subrahmanya Bharati.
The theme of the festival for the year 2024 is "Unity through Languages".
It aims to:
Preserve our cultural identity
Promote unity among citizens
Promote a deeper appreciation for Indian languages and literature among students
Encourage multilingualism
Create an Indian language medium of instruction and research
Highlight the importance of language in inspiring a new generation of language enthusiasts
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes the importance of languages (mother tongue based education and multilingualism) and a holistic approach to education.
Brief introduction of Mahakavi Subrahmanya Bharati:
Born: December 11, 1882 in 'Ettayapuram', Madras Presidency
He was an Indian writer of the nationalist period (1885-1920).
He is considered the father of the modern Tamil style.
