Recently, the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet approved the "Mukhyamantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana"
A budget of Rs 53.21 crore has been allocated for the scheme for the financial year 2024-25.
The scheme targets two specific age groups.
Children below the age of 18, eligible women and disabled parents will get a monthly grant of Rs 1,000 to cover education, health and nutritional expenses.
Children who will get admission in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma or vocational courses will get financial assistance from the government to meet tuition and hostel expenses.
Objective of the Scheme
To provide financial assistance to socially and economically vulnerable women and parents of disabled children to enable education and welfare of their children
To prevent issues like child abuse, trafficking, teenage marriage and drug abuse by strengthening child protection at the family level
Eligibility
Widows, destitute women, children of divorced women
Parents of disabled children
Eligible women and parents of disabled children should not have income more than Rs 1 lakh per annum
