• Recently India and UAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding for civil nuclear cooperation.
• This agreement was signed between Nuclear Energy Corporation of India Limited and Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation
• Objectives of the agreement –
  • To provide a common framework for possible cooperation in related areas
  • To develop supply chain
  • To share experience for operation and maintenance of nuclear power plants
  • To provide nuclear consultancy services
  • Human resource development and training
  • Research and development

Nuclear Energy Corporation of India Limited:

• It is a public sector enterprise of the Department of Atomic Energy
• It is responsible for the generation of electricity from nuclear energy.
• It operates all the civil nuclear power plants in the country.
• Established – Year 1987
• Headquarters – Mumbai

United Arab Emirates:

• It is a country located on the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia
• It borders Oman and Saudi Arabia
• Capital – Abu Dhabi
