Recently, the Department of Posts under the Union Ministry of Communications has launched the Deen Dayal Sparsh Yojana to promote research and scholarship in postage stamps among the students of the country.
The aim of this scholarship is to inculcate a passion for stamp collection in children from a young age.
This scheme is an all India scheme.
It has been launched for students of class 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of any recognized school.
Scholarship amount - Rs 6000 per year.
It will be paid quarterly.
Selection for scholarship will be done for 01 year.
For this scholarship, it is mandatory for the students to be members of a philately club or have a philately deposit account.
The collection and study of postage stamps is called 'Philately'.
