Eklavya' Online Digital Platform

Why in News?

Recently the Indian Army launched 'Eklavya' online digital platform for the training of officers.

Eklavya Platform

• This platform has been developed by Gandhinagar-based "Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics"
• This platform is hosted on the Army Data Network and has a scalable architecture.
• It enables the Headquarters Army Training Command to seamlessly integrate any training establishment of the Indian Army
• It is capable of hosting a wide range of courses.
• Officers studying in it are allowed to register for multiple courses simultaneously.
• Eklavya platform also has searchable "Knowledge Highway" functionality
• Various journals, research papers and articles etc. are uploaded under a single window.
• It will help in promoting Continuous Professional Military Education among officers, enriching existing physical curriculum, preparing officers for specialist appointments and promoting domain expertise.

There are three categories of courses on Eklavya platform

1. Category 1 - ‘Pre-Course Preparatory Capsule’
2. Category 2 - Recruitment or Specific Assignment-Related Courses
3. Category 3 - Professional Development Suite
