• Recently the Global Food Regulators Summit 2024 was organized in New Delhi.

Global Food Regulators Summit 2024: 

• This was the second edition of the Global Food Regulatory Summit.
• It was organized by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
• This summit is a global platform for food regulators.
• In this conference, ideas were exchanged regarding strengthening food safety systems and regulatory framework in the food value chain.
• 30 international organizations and more than 70 countries participated in it.
• The first Global Food Regulatory Summit was also held in New Delhi in the year 2023.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI):

• Establishment – ​​Year 2008
• Headquarters - New Delhi
• It works under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
• Its objective is to create standards for food items and to control the manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale and import of food items etc.
