Objective: To survey, document and preserve India's manuscript heritage held by academic institutions, museums, libraries and private collectors.
More than one crore manuscripts will be covered under this.
Budget allocation: ₹60 crore
The mission will be aligned with the National Manuscript Mission (NMM)
Importance: A national digital repository of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) will be established under the mission.
This initiative is in line with the vision of integrating ancient Indian knowledge with modern education and technology by securing India's vast intellectual heritage.
