  • Hindi is the fourth most widely spoken language in the world after Mandarin, Spanish and English

Constitutional provisions related to language

  • Article 343 - Official language of the Union.
    • The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script.
  • Article 344 - Commission and Committee of Parliament on Official Language.
  • Article 351 - Directive for development of Hindi language.
  • 22 official languages ​​including Hindi in Schedule 8 of the Indian Constitution
