Recently India-Oman joint military exercise 'Al Najah' started
This exercise will be held from 13 to 26 September 2024 at Rabkoot training area in Salalah, Oman
The Indian Army is being represented by a battalion of the Mechanized Infantry Regiment consisting of 60 personnel.
The contingent of the Royal Army of Oman also includes 60 personnel, which will be represented by soldiers of the Frontier Force.
The aim of this joint exercise is to enhance the joint military capability of both sides to conduct counter-terrorism operations under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.
This exercise will focus on operations in the desert environment.
The tactical drills to be conducted during the exercise include joint planning, cordon and search operations, fighting in built-up area, establishment of mobile vehicle check posts, counter drone and room intervention.
This exercise will allow both sides to exchange best practices pertaining to tactics, techniques and procedures for joint operations.
It will promote interoperability, goodwill and camaraderie between the two armies.
This joint exercise will strengthen defence cooperation and further enhance bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
Military Exercise ‘Al Najah’
It started in the year 2015
It is conducted on a biennial basis alternately between India and Oman.
The last edition of this exercise was conducted at Mahajan in Rajasthan.
