Indian Arts Festival

Why in the news?

• The first edition of the Indian Arts Festival will be held from 29 September to 6 October 2024.
• It will be held at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Secunderabad.
• It will be organized by Rashtrapati Nilayam in collaboration with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Ministry of Culture.
• This festival will showcase the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the northeastern states.
• It will introduce the diversity of art, culture, crafts and cuisine of northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
• More than 300 artists and artisans from these states will participate in this event.

Rashtrapati Nilayam

• It is located in Secunderabad, Telangana.
• It is a special winter retreat for the President of India.
• Construction - Year 1860.
• It was built by Nizam Nazir-ud-Daula of Hyderabad.
