International Solar Alliance

• The International Solar Alliance was established in 2015 during the 21st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Paris.
• It is headquartered in Gurugram (Haryana).
• Its objective is to promote the use of solar energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
• It promotes solar energy technologies as a means of ensuring energy security and promoting energy transition in its member countries.
• It currently has 100 full member countries.
