KAZIND Military Exercise

Why in the news?

• Recently the KAZIND military exercise between India-Kazakhstan started in Auli (Uttarakhand)
• This is the 8th edition of the KAZIND military exercise
• It will be held from 30 September to 13 October 2024.
• The Indian Armed Forces are represented by 120 personnel, primarily from a battalion of the KUMAON Regiment of the Indian Army.
• This exercise focuses on counter-insurgency/counter-terrorism operations in mountainous and semi-urban landscapes
• This exercise will strengthen military relations between the armed forces of the two countries.

KAZIND Military Exercise:

• It was first conducted in the year 2016.
• It is an annual military exercise.
• It is held alternately in both the countries
• It involves the Army and the Air Force.
