Khelo India Youth Games and Para Games 2025

• Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) and Para Games will be organized in Bihar in April 2025.
• There will also be a gap of 10-15 days between these two games.
• This has been announced by Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
• KIYG year 2023 was organized in Tamil Nadu in January this year.
• Para Games were organized in Delhi in the year 2023.
• Its last 6 editions were held -
  • Delhi, Pune, Guwahati, Panchkula Bhopal and Tamil Nadu
• Till date, only Maharashtra and Haryana have won the title of KIYG.
• KIYG is mainly a platform for school and college students in India.
• It is a national level multi-disciplinary sports competition.
• It is organized in two categories –
  • School students under 17 years of age
  • College students under 21 years of age.

Khelo India Youth Games:

• These were started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the year 2018.
• Initially, these were known as Khelo India School Games.
• In the year 2019, their name was changed to Khelo India Youth Games.
• These games are organized every year in January or February.
• These games are part of the Khelo India initiative of the Government of India.
  • Their aim is to promote sports culture and;
• To recognize sports talent at the grassroots level.

  • Haryana in the year 2018
  • Maharashtra in the year 2019
  • Maharashtra in the year 2020
  • Haryana in the year 2021
  • Maharashtra in the year 2022
