National Campaign- “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat”

• Recently, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi launched the “Bal Vivah Mukt Bharat” National Campaign.
• The main objective of this program is to make India a child marriage free nation.
• It is inspired by the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' scheme.
  • This scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on January 22, 2015.
  • It has been helpful in bringing a positive change in the behavior and attitude of the society towards girl children.
  • Inspired by its success, this campaign is being launched.
