• Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi attended the 'Odisha Parv 2024' event at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi on 24 November.

Odisha Parv

• Odisha Parv is a flagship event organised by the Odia Samaj Foundation in New Delhi.
• Through this, he is engaged in providing valuable support towards the preservation and promotion of Odia heritage.
• This year Odisha Parv was organised from 22 to 24 November.
• It showcased the rich heritage of Odisha with colourful cultural forms.
• It showcased the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the state.
• A national seminar or conference was also organised led by leading experts and eminent professionals from various fields.

Major architecture of Odisha

Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves

• These caves located near Bhubaneswar were built by Kalinga King Kharvel in the first and second century BC for the followers of Jain religion.

Sun Temple of Konark:-

• It is located at a place called Konark in Puri, Odisha state in India.
• It is built in the shape of the chariot of Sun God.
• It was built by the ruler of Ganga dynasty Narasimha Dev in the thirteenth century.
• This Sun Temple, famous as Black Pagoda, was included in the list of UNESCO's World Heritage in the year 1984.

Lingaraja:-

• The Lingaraj temple located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha is dedicated to Lord Harihar (combined form of Shiva and Vishnu).
• Built in the eleventh century, this temple was constructed by Somvanshi King Yayati I.

Jagannath Temple of Puri

• This temple of Puri is dedicated to Lord Jagannath (Shri Krishna).
• Along with him, the idols of elder brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra are installed.
• This temple was built by the ruler of Ganga dynasty Ananta Varman in the twelfth century.
