Project Naman focuses on the implementation of SPARSH (System for Pension Administration Raksha), a digital pension system
It facilitates pension related processes for defense pensioners
Under this, Common Service Centres have been set up at 14 locations –
New Delhi, Jalandhar, Leh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Jodhpur, Bengaluru, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Secunderabad, Sagar, Guntur, Ahmedabad and Bangalore
The banking partner, HDFC Bank, has provided the IT infrastructure required to make the CSCs operational
The local military stations have provided the required infrastructure and facilities.
These Common Service Centres provide touch-enabled pension services, government-to-citizen services and business-to-consumer services to ex-servicemen, pensioners, widows of martyrs and family members of martyrs, all at one convenient location.
Each Common Service Centre is managed by a Village Level Entrepreneur
It is given extensive training to provide the required services.
It is provided a monthly grant of ₹20,000 for the first 12 months by HDFC Bank
Project Naman also extends services to the entire population of the military stations and surrounding areas.
