Why in news?
- Rekha Gupta took oath as the fourth woman and 9th Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory (NCT) Delhi on 20 February 2025.
- Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma took oath as Deputy Chief Minister.
- Along with her, six cabinet ministers also took oath.
- All of them were administered the oath of office and secrecy by the Lieutenant Governor of NCT Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena.

Rekha Gupta:
- She has become an MLA from Shalimar Bagh constituency for the first time.
- She has been the former President and General Secretary of Delhi University Students Union.
- She has also been the General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and a member of the National Executive Committee of the party.
- Before becoming an MLA, she has also been elected as a member of the Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi and 18th woman Chief Minister of India:
- Rekha Gupta has become the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi.
- She has become the 18th woman Chief Minister in India.
- Sucheta Kriplani was the first woman Chief Minister of India.
- She was the Chief Minister of United Province (later Uttar Pradesh) from 1963-1967.
