Shabd Portal

The Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT) under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Education has launched the Shabd Portal. 

What is Shabd Portal

• The 'Shabd' portal provides technical terms in all 22 official Indian languages.
• Currently, a total of 322 glossaries containing about 22,00,000 words are available on searching on the portal. The target is to eventually provide 450 glossaries.
• Through this platform, users will be able to search for similar terms of scientific and technical terminology in Indian languages.
• This is an important step towards efforts to provide technical education, including medical and engineering, in Indian languages.
