Shiveluch volcano

Shiveluch volcano erupts following a 7.0 magnitude earthquake off Russia's east coast.

• Location: It is located in the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia.
• Height: 3,283 metres (10,771 ft).
• Type: It is a stratovolcano type volcano.
• Activity: It is one of the most active volcanoes in Russia. More than 60 eruptions have occurred in the last 10,000 years.
• Warning: The US Tsunami Warning System has issued a warning of dangerous tsunami waves within 300 km of the earthquake's epicentre along the coast of Russia.
