Surgical Robot

• Recently, Maharashtra's first surgical robot manufactured in India has been installed at Noble Hospitals and Research Center, Pune. Robotic right extended hemicolectomy was performed on a patient suffering from colon carcinoma using this system.
• The first surgical robot system manufactured in India was installed at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi.

What is Robotic Surgery:

• Robotic surgery refers to the operation performed by the doctor using robotic arms.
• In this system, the doctor controls the robotic arms through the console, while there is a 32-inch monitor in front which provides a 3D view of the patient's surgical field. It also has a security camera.
