Three online platforms launched to enhance efficiency and transparency of power sector
Why in the news?
Recently, Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar launched three online platforms to increase the efficiency and transparency of the power sector.
The names of these portals are –
Portal for online monitoring of projects - Thermal (PROMPT)
Disaster Resilient Infrastructure for Power Sector (DRIPS)
Hydro Power DPR
PROMPT Portal
It provides a centralized platform for monitoring all aspects of project execution
This enables quick identification and resolution of potential issues.
It ensures greater transparency in project management by digitizing the monitoring process
This reduces time and cost, and increases project execution efficiency.
DRIPS Portal
It will allow rapid identification and deployment of required resources
It will enable prompt and efficient resolution of power sector disruptions in the event of a disaster
It will serve as a single point of contact for all designated nodal officers of all power sector departments and other agencies in the disaster affected districts, States
It will enable transparent, coordinated and effective functioning of the power sector in the country during any adverse situation.
Hydropower DPR
This portal is designed with the objective of enhancing efficiency and transparency in the DPR (Detailed Project Report) preparation process
It will help in monitoring the survey and investigation activities of hydropower and pumped storage projects
