Why in news?

• The modern multi-role stealth-guided missile warship 'Tamal' is going to join the Indian Navy fleet in June 2025.
  • After this, only indigenous warships will be included in the Indian Navy fleet.

• Warship 'Tamal' has been built at Yantar Shipyard in Russia.
• In the year 2016, an agreement was signed between India and Russia to build 4 Talwar class stealth frigates.
• Two of these were to be built in Russia and two in India.
• The first of the two warships to be built in Russia, INS Tushil, has already been inducted into the Indian Navy.
