World Food India 2024

Why in News

• World Food India 2024 will be held from 19 to 22 September at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi
• It will be hosted by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries
• More than 90 countries, 26 Indian states and union territories and 18 central ministries and allied government bodies will participate in this event.
• This event will prove to be a great confluence of innovation, technology and sustainability in the food processing sector
• It will highlight India's emerging role as a global powerhouse in food processing.
• The event will highlight Government initiatives and future plans for the growth and development of the food processing sector in India.
• A cooking competition called Swaad Sutra has been launched as a part of the event to showcase regional cuisines from across India.
