Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the ‘Zero Poverty – P4’ initiative under the ‘Golden Andhra Vision 2047’ on the occasion of Telugu New Year Ugadi.
The aim of Golden Andhra Vision 2047 is to create a prosperous, healthy and happy Andhra Pradesh. Zero poverty is one of the ten principles of this vision.
About Zero Poverty- P4 Initiative
What is it:It is a voluntary initiative for poverty alleviation in the state of Andhra Pradesh, aimed at reducing socio-economic divide by encouraging the richest 10% of the state’s population to help the poorest 20% of households.
Objective:To make the state of Andhra Pradesh poverty free by the year 2029.
P4 stands for ‘Public-Private-People Partnership’
Key Features
Affluent individuals willing to contribute to the initiative are designated as ‘Margdarshak’ (mentors), while underprivileged beneficiaries are identified as ‘Bangaru Kutumbam’ (golden families).
The initiative is unique as it provides an institutional platform for direct interaction between the Margdarshaks and golden families.
The initiative encourages the golden families to provide financial assistance, mentoring and overall development support.
The government has identified 30 lakh families through gram sabhas, ensuring targeted assistance.
The government will act as a facilitator while ensuring real-time tracking of progress through a digital board.
