Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement-2021
Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement is a joint initiative of 'Ministry of Education' and 'All India Council for Technical Education'. It aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
It ranks all major higher education institutions in India on the basis of indicators such as innovation, start-up and entrepreneurship development among students and faculty members.
This ranking evaluates institutions on parameters such as number of patents applied and received, number of registered students and faculty start-ups, funds generated by incubated start-ups, special infrastructure created by institutions to promote innovation and entrepreneurship etc.
A total of 1438 institutes were included in the ranking for the year 2021, in which IIT Madras got the first rank. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur secured 2nd, 3rd and 4th rank respectively.
