Barda Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Porbandar district of Gujarat. It was given the status of a sanctuary in the year 1979. It is also a major abode of the Maldhari community of Gujarat.
Two major rivers Bileshwari and Jogri flow through this sanctuary, along with two dams Khambala and Fodara add to natural beauty it.
It has southern tropical forests, southern dry mixed deciduous forests and northern tropical thorn forests along with important fauna blue bull, chinkara, blackbuck etc. are found.
The Gujarat government plans to relocate 40 lions from Gir National Park to Barda Wildlife Sanctuary in the state.
