Beluga Whale

Beluga whales are highly social mammals that hunt and migrate in groups. Their raised head is flexible which is capable of changing shape.
Being able to make different types of sounds, they are also called 'canaries of the sea'. They use them for communication in their group.
Belugas feed on a variety of fish species as well as shrimp, crabs and molluscs. They are classified as Near Threatened (NT) in the IUCN Red List.
Russia has been accused of spying in various countries through this whale species. Norway has named it Hvaldimir.
