C295 Aircraft

  • Airbus Company has handed over the first aircraft to IAF in Seville, Spain.
  • C-295 is a tactical military transport aircraft.
  • A deal for 56 aircraft has been signed with Spain.
  • 15 more aircraft will be received from Spain in the next 2 years.
  • Another 40 aircraft will be manufactured in India by Tata Advanced Systems.
  • It is set to replace the aging Avro-748 fleet.
  • The aircraft can carry 71 soldiers or 50 paratroopers.
