'Central Revenue Control Laboratory' (CRCL), New Delhi has been recognized as 'Regional Customs Laboratory' (RCL) for the Asia-Pacific region by 'World Customs Organization' (WCO). CRCL Was established in the year 1939. It is administered by the 'Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs'.
It is the headquarters of 14 revenue laboratories including 2 opium and alkaloids laboratories functioning in Ghazipur and Neemuch. CRCL, after being recognized as a 'Regional Customs Laboratory', has joined the Group of Customs Laboratories located in Japan and Korea countries.
'World Customs Organization' was established in the year 1952 as 'Customs Cooperation Council'. It is an independent inter-governmental body, which aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of customs administration. It is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
