DEXA (Dual energy X-ray Absorptiometry :DEXA) is a method of testing the amount of mineral content in human body bone.
It is a way of measuring the amount of bone loss that occurs with age. This method is also called bone density test.
This method uses X-rays to measure bone density. During this test, some of the radiation passes through the body while some is absorbed by the bones and soft tissues.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made this test mandatory for measuring the physical fitness of the players.
