A 'Digital Banking Unit' is a 'Specialized Fixed Point Business Unit or Hub'. It is a definitive 'Minimum Digital Infrastructure Centre' to deliver digital banking products and services and make existing financial products and services available at all times (24×7).
Minimum infrastructure is required for their installation. These units ensure convenient and cost-effective banking for the customers.
Its aim to provide customers with an enhanced digital experience and access to banking products and services in a friendly, paperless, secure and connected environment. Through this, the consumer can automatically avail these facilities at any time.
In the budget of the financial year 2022-23, on the completion of 75 years of independence it has been proposed to set up 75 Digital Banking Units (DBUs) in 75 districts of the country by scheduled commercial banks.
