Global Risks Report -2022

  • Recently, Global Risks Report- 2022 was released by World Economic Forum. This is 17th edition of the report. It identifies short-term risks impeding individual and collective growth.
  • The report has projected climate change as the main cause of global risk again. Other risk factors which have been identified include water crisis, conflict between countries, post-pandemic global economy, erosion of social cohesion, livelihood crisis and decline in mental health.
  • According to the report, youth disintegration, lack of confidence in existing economic, political and social structures globally, negatively affects social stability, individual well-being and economic productivity.
  • In India's context, lack of inter-state relations, debt crisis, widespread frustration among youth, failure of technological governance and digital inequality are among the top risks. According to risk experts, the global recovery in the next three years will be unstable and uneven.
