Guchhi is a species of mushroom found in the mountain forests of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
This species known as sponge mushroom is called Chhatri, Tutmor or Dungru in the local language.
With medicinal properties B complex vitamins, vitamin D and some essential amino acids are found in this species of mushroom.
It has a wide demand in India as well as in countries like Europe, America, France, Italy and Switzerland. Presently, their yield has declined due to climate change.
