Hellfire R9X missile-Sanskriti IAS

This US-origin missile also known as 'Ninja Missile'. It is known to cause minimum collateral damage while engaging individual targets.
It weighs about 45 kg and the range of these missiles varies from 500 metres to 11 km. The missile can also be launched from helicopters, aircraft and Humvees.
Hellfire means Heliborne, Laser, Fire and Forget Missile. It was developed initially to target tanks from the Apache AH-64 attack helicopters.
The US military used its ‘secret weapon’ to kill Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri.
