  • It is a diplomatic initiative to promote relations with the Asia-Pacific region.
  • It focuses on economic integration of ASEAN countries and security cooperation with East Asian countries.
  • This policy announced in the year 2014 is an advanced form of ‘Look East Policy’.
    • It was started in the year 1992 by former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.
  •  Its main objective is to improve the economic development of the north-eastern region of India.
    • This region is the gateway to South-East Asia.
  • The Prime Minister of India has emphasized on 4C under this policy.
