Indigenous Light Tank Zorawar

  • Testing of indigenous light tank Zorawar started for the Indian Army.
  • It has been developed by DRDO and Larsen & Toubro.
  • It is named after a military general Zorawar Singh Kahluria.
  • Its maximum weight is 25 tonnes.
  • It is mainly designed for operations in high altitude areas and border areas etc.
  • It is equipped with modern technologies like AI, drone integration and amphibious operations capability.
  • It is expected to be inducted into the Indian Army by the year 2027.
