Kudumbashree is a poverty alleviation and women empowerment program implemented by the State Poverty Alleviation Mission of the Government of Kerala.
It was started in the year 1997 following the recommendations of a three member task force appointed by the state government. It has a three-tier structure for the women's community network.
In the year 2011 the Union Ministry of Rural Development recognized Kudumbashree as a State Rural Livelihood Mission under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission.
Recently, President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations of the Kudumbashree scheme in Thiruvananthapuram.
