A rare pink rough diamond has been discovered in the Lulo mine of Angola. The weight of this 170 carat diamond is 34 grams. It has been named 'Lulo Rose' which is the largest pink diamond discovered in the last 300 years.
It is the fifth largest diamond ever excavated under the Lulo Mining Project. The '4 February Stone' discovered in the year 2016 is the largest diamond ever found in Angola.
The largest known pink diamond discovered in India is the Dariya-i-Noor, and weighs an estimated 182 carats. The Dariya-i-Noor diamond was obtained from the Kollur mine of Golconda, which was first controlled by the Kakatiya dynasty. Presently this diamond is with the Central Bank of Iran.
