Manamadurai Pottery is a pottery art from the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu which was recently granted Geographical Indication (GI).
Soil and water are the main raw materials for making these pots. The sand collected from different places is dried for two days to separate the larger particles.
The Vaigai river enriches the clay used for the Manamadurai pottery. To improve the quality of the pots, lead and graphite are added to it.
