Manasbal Lake is located in the Jhelum Valley in the north of Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The name is believed to be derived from Mansarovar Lake.
It is the deepest lake in India. Lotus is found in abundance in this lake. The roots of these plants are marketed for food use.
The Mughal garden Jharokha built by Nur Jahan is also located here. This lake is also known as 'Bird's Paradise'.
After 33 years, this lake has been opened again for the training of cadets of National Cadet Corps.
