The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has launched 'One Health India' program as a pilot project in Uttarakhand to implement the framework of One Health Scheme.
Some of the major activities to be undertaken under this include institutionalizing data related to disease outbreak, spread, management and development of targeted surveillance plan, integrating network of laboratories, developing and implementing communication strategy in all areas and data integrated with the digital system of the National Digital Livestock Mission.
It will work with stakeholders from various sectors to improve livestock, human, wildlife and environmental health through technology and finance.
It will support the formulation of the One Health Plan framework for the country and help build strong social infrastructure that improves the health of people and the planet.
