The World Bank has provided an unconditional loan of $250 million for the Andhra Pradesh government's five-year Supporting Andhra’s Learning Transformation (SALT) project.
It aims to improve the quality of school education. Under this project, one year pre-school level curriculum will be started in 3,500 schools in tribal blocks.
It is a first of its kind innovative project to train teachers, facilitate state-level assessment and establish an effective education management and information system.
It will help in providing universal access to quality education in the state.
Under this project the government has converted all the Anganwadis into pre-primary schools in the state and connected them with the nearest schools.
