Fossil of a species 'Silipsimopodi bideni' belonging to the octopus family has been discovered in the central Montana of America. It is named in honor of US President 'Joe Biden'.
Despite being about 328 million years old, this fossil is well preserved. All its arms and suckers are arranged in parallel rows. It is the oldest known species of sucker.
Two of its 10 sides are twice as long as the other eight sides. Its body shape is like a torpedo while it appears like a squid. However, it is not closely related to squid.
The present-day octopus belongs to a group called 'Syllipsimopodi vampyropods' which originated about 82 million years ago.
