Swachhta Saarthi Fellowship

  • The Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India has launched the 'Swachh Bharat Fellowship' under its 'Waste to Wealth' mission. The mission is one of the nine national missions of the Prime Minister's Science, Technology and Innovation Advisory Council.
  • It is an initiative to empower the young innovators, known as ‘Swachhata Sarathi’, working at community level in the waste management, awareness dissemination, waste survey and studies.
  • The awards conferred under Fellowship are divided into three categories. it includes, school students from class 9th to 12th engaged in 'waste management community work’ under category-A , in category-B students from college and in category-C self-help groups and sanitation workers. Under this fellowship, 500 scholars will be recognized.
