Ministry of Tribal Affairs launched Van Dhan Vikas Yojana to benefit the people of tribal community on the occasion of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's birthday in April 2018.
Main objective of this scheme is to encourage the entrepreneurship of the tribal community by increasing the value of Minor Forest Produce (MFP) at the primary level.
The mainstay of business in the Van Dhan Vikas Yojana was unrefined (raw) and processed Giloy. Now, products such as Safed Musli, Jamun, Behada, Vavding, Moringa, Neem, Amla and orange peel powder are also included in it.
The success of Van Dhan Vikas Yojana has inspired thousands of people from the tribal community. So far TRIFED has additionally approved 12,000 beneficiaries and about 39 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras.
Under the Atmanirbhar Abhiyan, these initiatives implemented by TRIFED have positively influenced the lives of tribals with the motto "Go Vocal for Local Go Tribal- Mera Van, Mera Dhan, Mera Udyam". The slogan 'Go Vocal for Local Go Tribal- Mera Van, Mera Dhan, Mera Udyam' has been adopted for these initiatives implemented by TRIFED under the Atmanirbhar Abhiyan.
